Q: What makes AgWatch Security Equipment different from other security products?

A: AgWatch uses the highest quality products and the latest technology on the market today. We back our products with a 2-year full-replacement warranty and we offer lifetime technical support.

Q: How to Choose the Right Cameras for your Location?

A: Like many of our customers you know you need surveillance equipment but don’t know exactly what you need. Consider the areas that you wish to monitor and if you want the equipment to be visible or hidden.

  • If you would prefer to catch a thief or deter potential thieves?
  • If you would like hide the cameras and equipment?
  • How many areas do you wish to monitor?
  • Do you prefer to store the data locally or monitor from a remote location?

If your primary goal is to deter potential thieves, you will not need a covert camera. For this purpose, we recommend a small and unobtrusive camera system. If your goal is to remind employees and potential thieves that someone is watching, the camera may be placed in a location that is clearly visible. In this case, you do not need to find a concealed location to set up the monitor and DVR. If this is your situation, give us a call and let our trained professionals help you to find the right product to best suit your needs.

If you wish to secretly monitor your employees or customers, we offer a variety of products to suit your needs. If you wish to covertly monitor employees and/or customers consider these options:

Not sure? Give us a call at 877-277-6540, we will be more than happy to discuss your needs and make a recommendation on equipment. The call is free and there is no obligation to buy! We want to make sure that you have the information you need to make an informed decision.

Q: Should I use Color or Black & White (B&W) Cameras?

A: B&W Cameras typically offer a higher resolution picture while having tremendously better low light capabilities over color cameras but you can buy them for a fraction of the cost of a color camera. Unless noted otherwise, all of our B&W cameras are Infrared Sensitive and may be used where even the lowest amounts of light may be present. Color Cameras typically demand a greater amount of light to be present for the imaging device to capture a clean, sharp image. Even with more expensive models, color cameras tend to “wash out” the color when used in a low light environment. We recommend that you save yourself money by purchasing B&W cameras unless your application dictates the need to see color. This is especially true if you need the camera to see in low light environments. However, we highly recommend that you use a minimum of one color camera to cover the public entrance to your site. In the event of a robbery or theft, it is especially helpful in the arrest and later prosecution of the individual to have a full color description of the perpetrator’s clothing.

Q: Should I use wireless or wired cameras?

A: We offer wired and wireless cameras, as well as wireless transmitters that can be used with any of our cameras to make it wireless. Wireless cameras and transmitters are perfect for hard to reach installations, or when a road or other type of structure separates the camera from the “monitoring station” where you have your DVR and monitor set up. Being that they are easy to install, they are also great to use if you are “technologically impaired” or are intimidated by the idea of running cable through your structure. However, as with any electrical device that uses radio waves to transmit a signal, there is the possibility of external interference that may make it impractical to use a wireless system. Although most of our equipment is immune to common interference, they may not produce a desirable picture under certain (and rare) conditions.

Wireless cameras also give you the option of having a highly secure system without the hassles of running wires throughout your structures. These systems are just as secure as hardwired systems and much more convenient to install and set-up. Wireless systems give you the option of not drilling holes which protects the structure’s integrity. We recommend installing a wireless system because it is the easiest and simplest way to install a surveillance system. If you don’t mind the extra cost go with the added convenience of a wireless system. If you’re not installing the system in a difficult environment and you do not mind running cable, save some money and go with a wired surveillance system.

Q: Do I need to sign a contract?

A:-No. With our systems there are never any contracts to sign. There are ways to perform remote surveillance without complicated contracts. We offer systems that allow you to monitor your site remotely and/or record the footage for viewing at a later date. These systems allow you to search the stored data, check the system status, and even change user settings from a remote location. You can view the camera from any internet browser or a 3G compatible phone.
